Danielle Piraino

Farm Site Manager

Danielle grew up in northern Illinois, in an area where she witnessed the frontlines of suburban development and destruction of farm lands. This experience, along with books by Wendell Berry, fueled her pursuit of protecting ag land from the short-sightedness of capitalism. Danielle has an Environmental Studies degree in "Food, Land & Community" and extensive experience working on diversified organic farms. As the new Farm Site Manager, she will be working closely with our local government, contractors and partners to lead the implementation of a Site Master Plan for Sharing Our Roots’ 100-acre farm in its sixth season.

What Danielle Enjoys About Sharing Our Roots

I'm most excited about co-creating a high functioning agricultural landscape with others at the farm. I'm excited at the thought of creating something truly replicable in order to restore and protect more working lands and increase land accessibility for emerging farmers.
