Bob Kell

Training Director

Bob is a Minnesota native, born in Bloomington and raised by parents “just off the farm.” Early in his career he focused on community building work with youth and social service with Latinx immigrants in Chicago and rural Minnesota. His commitment to helping Latinx immigrants prosper in Minnesota led Bob to joining our staff as Training Director. For the past nine years, he has supported more than 100 aspiring immigrant poultry farmers. Aside from the initial skills training in flock care and small business management, he accompanies new producers as they raise their first flocks and assists them in marketing their product. He also assists beginning farmers in finding land they can farm.

What Bob Enjoys About Sharing Our Roots

I most enjoy the relationships with the trainees, seeing their dedication to their flocks and being able to support them in their success. I also enjoy the team that we are as Sharing Our Roots, witnessing the passion and skill that each one brings to this organization’s mission.
