Originally from the Driftless Area of Wisconsin, Lucia has always been drawn towards rural resilience building, expanding an ethic of land stewardship, and engaging in meaningful community-based organizing. In her undergraduate work at the University of Vermont, Lucia studied human geography and environmental studies with a focus on rural landscapes, food systems, community engagement, and participant-led qualitative research.
Prior to joining the Sharing Our Roots team, Lucia worked as a program manager and outreach coordinator for rural public health nonprofits and as a community organizer and outreach professional. Lucia is honored to work with the Sharing Our Roots team to help communicate the meaningful work happening at the farm and community gardens.
What Lucia Enjoys About Sharing Our Roots
I am excited to highlight the voices and lived experiences of our farmer cohort, team members, and the greater Southeastern Minnesota community. I am deeply inspired by Sharing Our Roots' commons-based approach to farming, community, and wildlife restoration.
