The Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to Main Street Project. The award was presented at our Community Celebration December 13, 2018, in Northfield.
Main Street Project’s vision and that of the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation are well aligned: a prosperous and growing region with vibrant communities, innovative and successful economies and engaged and valued citizens.

“Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation is excited to assist the Main Street Project as they expand and enhance their work,” said Tim Penny, President and CEO of the Foundation. “We were extremely pleased with the amazing outcomes achieved by Main Street based on our Foundation’s earlier donation to help launch the Agripreneur program. We are delighted to continue that partnership as this activity is taken to another level.”
Main Street Project is also partnering with the Foundation through the Grow A Farmer Fund. Late last year, the Foundation provided a no-interest loan to Antonia Navarro, who has trained in the Main Street project method and is now expanding her operation. (See our blog for more on Antonia).
