FARM TOUR: A Bug’s Life
Insects are an essential part of any agroecosystem. As pollinators, they can help increase production yields leading to prosperity and food security. As pests, they can lead to disease and economic loss. Because of this, it’s important for farmers to catalog the insects they’re seeing on their farm.
Leading this fascinating tour is Bilingual Program Director, Antonio Alba Meraz. Antonio was an Agronomist in Mexico for many years, and is currently leading the compilation of an insect inventory at the Sharing Our Roots Farm. Antonio will walk us through different areas of the farm and show us how to catch and identity insects.
Bring your bug nets and register to save a spot! We will be limiting tours to 25 people due to social distancing needs.
Please note: 1 ticket/person. If you’re coming as a family or group, please reserve enough tickets for everyone attending. For example, a family of 4, needs to reserve 4 tickets.
