  • Join the team at Sharing Our Roots! Sharing Our Roots envisions a world where food and agriculture systems are profitable for farmers, fair to workers, beneficial to consumer health, restorative for rural communities, and regenerative for the environment. The focus for this internship position will be to support our community connectors and communications teams at the Sharing Our Roots farm and gardens. This year promises to be significant as we intend to expand garden plots, onboard new gardeners, and enhance our community gardening resources. In addition, this role will assist with content development to help promote the Community Connector program.  The Community Connector Intern will be supported by the Community Connectors Program Manager, Noemi, and Grace, the Development Coordinator.

    Job Description:

    • Attend weekly team meetings (1hr/week)

    • Assist with in-the-field projects (5-10hrs/week)

      • Maintain a regenerative, organized, and welcoming environment at our gardens.

      • Assist with insect identification and control in the gardens, including facilitating trainings with gardeners.

    • Content Development (5-10hrs/week)

      • Document community events, write blog posts, and curate narratives to share on social media and newsletters.

    • Photography/Video Work (up to 5hrs/week)

      • Document community events, photograph gardens, and take videos of activities to use to promote the community connectors program on our website, newsletter, blog and social media.

    • Help connectors with technology needs (1hr/week)

    • Attend outreach events with the connectors in the Northfield area 

    • Occasionally engage in collaboration with other SOR interns in group tasks.

    • Farm Event Support (As Needed)- Throughout the 2026 summer season, Sharing Our Roots will host a variety of on-farm tours and community events. Some Saturday hours may be required.

    SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

    ● A current college student with an emphasis in environmental studies, social justice,

    or related area of study

    ● Experience or interest in content development and photography

    ● Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    ● Demonstrated work ethic with ability to multitask

    ● Team player who is also able to work independently and manage their own schedule

    ● Bilingual (English and Spanish preferred)

    ● Must be able to lift 30lbs

    Hours: Flexible up to 30 hours per week (varied in-person and virtual), generally 9:00am-3:00 pm Monday-Friday, occasional weekends and evenings for 10-12 weeks June-September 2026.
