Adele Fredericks

Farm Intern (she/her)

Adele Fredericks is a rising senior at Carleton College, majoring in Geology. Adele was drawn to this internship through her campus job with Carleton’s CCCE. With a long-standing focus on social justice and activism, Adele is interested in how Sharing Our Roots combines these elements with agriculture.

Originally from Hudson Valley, NY, where agriculture and industry intersect with beautiful nature and the harsh realities of pollution and the climate crisis, Adele’s fieldwork in geology informs her understanding of how a better relationship with the land and soil could support a healthier future. This makes hands-on regenerative agriculture fieldwork a perfect fit for her!

Adele loves the outdoors and has experience with farming, making her excited to spend the summer planting wild strawberries and using the weed whip as a farmhand. She is particularly passionate about the intersection of food justice and agricultural food systems. After college, Adele is interested in pursuing similar outdoor work, whether it be farming, environmental education, or any role that involves being outside with plants.
