Alissa Jacobsen
Farm Manager (she/her)
Alissa is originally from Stillwater, MN. While she originally was drawn to sustainable agriculture for its environmental impact, she realized its benefits to rural communities as well and was hooked for life. Alissa has been farming for 14 years, with experience both running her own businesses and supporting local sustainable land projects.
Her agricultural journey began in college with the founding of the Morris Organic Student Garden Club, leading to the successful management of her own Hidden Willow Farm CSA, and her Darn Tootin' Beans heirloom bean business. Her tenures as Farm Manager at Open Hands Farm (Northfield) and Frogtown Farm (St. Paul), as well as her work as the CSA Workshare, Volunteer, and Programming Lead at Woxupi Tribal Gardens (Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community) highlight her significant contributions to ecological practices and community engagement, including work in Indigenous food sovereignty.
Alissa is skilled in heavy equipment operation, vegetable production, crew management, record keeping for organic and GAPs certification, and general construction.
Now living in Sogn Valley with her dog Pinto, Alissa's life is a blend of her commitment to sustainable farming and her personal passions, which include playing the fiddle, board games, and cooking.
