Learn how Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) can improve the quality and safety of your produce and help you access new markets.
Training topics will include:
Best practices to improve safety in growing, harvesting, washing and handling of fresh fruits and vegetables.
What is a GAP audit? What is FSMA? How do they apply to me?
Creating written procedures to improve safety and efficiency on your farm and meet requirements for a GAP audit if desired.
Compost and manure use on the farm.
Packing shed design.
Wild and domesticated animals on the farm.
Water testing, how to safely wash vegetables, safe low-cost handwashing stands, and more!
