Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Training for Small Farmers

Learn how Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) can improve the quality and safety of your produce and help you access new markets.

Training topics will include:

  • Best practices to improve safety in growing, harvesting, washing and handling of fresh fruits and vegetables.

  • What is a GAP audit? What is FSMA? How do they apply to me?

  • Creating written procedures to improve safety and efficiency on your farm and meet requirements for a GAP audit if desired.

  • Compost and manure use on the farm.

  • Packing shed design.

  • Wild and domesticated animals on the farm.

  • Water testing, how to safely wash vegetables, safe low-cost handwashing stands, and more!

Note:
