Erika Gomez
La Tía Farm
Erika Gomez is the owner and operator of La Tía Farm. She grows tomatillos, roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, a variety of hot peppers, cilantro, rosemary, thyme, and marjoram. She uses organic seeds, many of which are rare varieties (especially of hot peppers) that have been saved and passed down from their home country of Mexico. In 2024, she is excited to grow garbanzo and fava beans for the first time.
Erika got involved in agriculture when she moved to the US and worked at Warner’s Nursery for seven years transplanting and potting up plants. She also worked at Bachman’s Nursery, also specializing in greenhouse work. Erika first discovered Sharing Our Roots by working as a Community Connector for two growing seasons. She chose to return to farm because she loves being outside with plants and Sharing Our Roots made it easy by providing land, infrastructure, and support.
La Tía Farm will be selling at the Emerging Farmers’ Markets this season, as well as distributing produce through a small CSA with 4 shares.
