Madeline Davenport
Fireweed Flower Co
Madeline Davenport began farming after graduating from college when she was worried about getting stuck working an indoor, 9-5 job. She worked at Swallowtail Farm in Alachua, FL, for two seasons where she learned the basics, like how to start seeds, drive a tractor, and care for livestock. Madeline then returned to Minnesota where she worked at several more small farms, fell in love, and moved to Northfield. She identified a gap in the regional flower farm market in an otherwise vibrant local agriculture scene and promptly got to work on creating Fireweed Flower Co.
This is Madeline's second season at Sharing Our Roots Farm. She enjoys working in community alongside other farmers as they learn about each other's farming techniques, cultures, and crops. She is now proud to serve Northfield and the surrounding areas with a seasonal CSA and year-round design services.
