Americorps VISTA Member (she/her)

Originally from southeast Minnesota, Margaret (she/her) is drawn to the many ways small-scale, sustainable agricultural initiatives connect and contribute to global efforts to combat climate change and create a healthier world for all. After graduating from the University of Minnesota with degrees in Geography and Spanish and Portuguese Studies, Margaret worked in COVID-19 emergency response at the state and nonprofit levels. Her work during the pandemic included migrant farmworker advocacy and relationship building between migrant health clinics nationwide.

These experiences sparked Margaret’s interest in agricultural initiatives that promote the health of communities and the natural world.  As an AmeriCorps VISTA with Campus Compact, she is excited to build capacity at Sharing Our Roots through the support of volunteer management systems and land access initiatives.
