Margaret Walker

As a rising junior at Carleton College majoring in Environmental Studies, Margaret was drawn to the farmhand position at Sharing Our Roots while perusing Handshake. Her passion for sustainability and social justice made this opportunity stand out, as it allows her to contribute tangibly to both causes. Growing up in the Midwest and having prior farm experience, Margaret loves working outdoors, especially in the summer, and prefers it to office work.

Academically, Margaret is particularly interested in sustainable architecture, but is still exploring various fields related to sustainability, the environment, and art history. Her recent study-abroad focused on European architecture, and on the science side, she enjoyed the hands-on outdoor labs in her Intro to Field Geology course. Margaret is excited to combine their academic interests with practical experience at Sharing Our Roots.
