Join Sharing Our Roots’ staff for a land walk of the Sharing Our Roots Farm! A once degraded, corn-on-corn parcel is now a thriving ecosystem. Learn about our efforts to restore this 163-acre landscape and how we are supporting immigrant, BIPOC, LGBTQ+. and emerging farmers reclaim their food sovereignty on the land.
Our August land walk is centered on the farm and food production side of Sharing Our Roots and will be led by Alissa Jacobsen, Farm Manager. We will discuss the philosophy behind our farming practices, clarify terms such as “organic”, “sustainable”, and “regenerative”, and learn more about food production on the farm. Participants will tour the new acreage that SOR acquired in 2023 and hear about our efforts to transition it from conventional corn to regenerative agriculture through increasing soil and water quality.
Remember to dress for the weather and to bring water. The land walk will last for 60-90 minutes and consist of light walking across unpaved, mowed terrain, with areas to sit and rest along the way. Since Sharing Our Roots is a working farm, please keep pets at home. Please send any translation or accommodation needs to info@sharing-our-roots.org.

We offer these tours freely. If you are able and inspired, please join us in our work to heal our lands and prepare emerging farmers by contributing a single-time or recurring donation.
We are proud to be community-supported by donations of all amounts. Thank you!
