September Land Walk: Community Garden Cultural Harvest Practices

  • Sharing Our Roots Farm 4905 315th Street West Northfield, MN, 55057 (map)

Join Sharing Our Roots’ staff for a land walk at the Sharing Our Roots Farm’s community garden, one of 7 local community gardens supported by our Community Connectors.

Our September land walk is centered on the Community Connectors program and will be led by Community Connectors staff. We will present more on how our work supports local food security and discuss different cultural harvest practices of gratitude.

At the SOR Farm, a once degraded, corn-on-corn parcel is now a thriving ecosystem and community center, where local gardeners can socialize, release stress, and grow food. Through access to growing space and educational tools, Community Connectors are advancing local food security and sovereignty in our region.

Remember to dress for the weather and to bring water. The land walk will last for 60-90 minutes and consist of light walking across unpaved, mowed terrain, with areas to sit and rest along the way. Since Sharing Our Roots is a working farm, please keep pets at home. Please send any translation or accommodation needs to info@sharing-our-roots.org.

Please register below to save a spot! It helps us with planning.

We offer these tours freely. If you are able and inspired, please join us in our work to heal our lands and prepare emerging farmers by contributing a single-time or recurring donation.

We are proud to be community-supported by donations of all amounts. Thank you!
